The surface is embossed polyester, textured into raised channels rather than woven flat. The backing is textured rubber, designed to grip wet tile. It's what keeps the mat where you put it instead of sliding when you step off the shower.

Will it stay put on tile?
The backing is textured rubber, made to grip smooth wet surfaces. For best hold, make sure the floor is clean and dry when you first lay it down — dust and soap residue under any mat reduce grip.
How do I wash it?
For everyday cleaning, rinse under water and let it air dry. For a deeper clean, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Skip fabric softener and don't put it through a hot dryer — heat can damage the backing.
Does it work on heated floors?
Yes. Drying time and grip both improve on any surface with airflow.
