Your Washing Machine Can Clean Your Sneakers. It Just Needs a Buffer.
Chenille lining does the scrubbing. Mesh end panels let the water through. Padded walls keep the soles off the drum. You press start and walk away.
White sneakers get dingy faster than anything else you own, and hand scrubbing barely touches it. Twenty minutes with a brush and an old toothbrush gets the toe cap clean and leaves the mesh, the tongue, and the midsole exactly as grubby as they were.
So most people give up and throw them straight in the machine. Then the soles hammer against the drum for forty minutes, the laces wrap around the agitator, and the shoes come out misshapen with the glue starting to lift.
The machine was never the problem. It just needed something between the shoe and the drum.

How It Works
The body of the bag is lined with chenille — thousands of short, dense fibers standing upright off the backing. As the drum turns, those fibers move across the shoe from every direction at once. It's the same scrubbing motion you'd do by hand, happening continuously for the whole cycle, on every part of the shoe rather than just the parts you can reach.
The end panels are open mesh. That's deliberate — water and detergent flow straight through instead of pooling, so the shoe actually gets washed rather than just soaked. A fully sealed bag would trap water and defeat the purpose.
The structure handles the other half. The bag holds its shape around the shoe instead of collapsing, so the sole strikes padded fabric rather than the steel drum. That's what keeps the shoe from being knocked out of shape — and what keeps the wash from sounding like someone's throwing rocks in your laundry room.
A drawstring closure keeps everything sealed, so laces stay inside and nothing tangles.
Why This Bag
- Chenille lining scrubs while the machine runs. Dense upright fibers work across the whole shoe, including the mesh and seams a brush can't reach.
- Mesh end panels keep water moving. Detergent flows through instead of pooling, so the shoe gets washed rather than soaked.
- Padded structure absorbs the impact. The sole hits fabric instead of steel. Quieter cycle, and the shoe keeps its shape.
- Drawstring closure. Laces stay in, nothing tangles, the bag stays shut through the whole cycle.
- Reusable. Wash it with the shoes. Air dry. Use it again next time.
- Two-pack costs 18% less per bag. One for your sneakers, one for the kids' shoes — or wash two pairs in a single load.
What Goes In — and What Doesn't
Being specific here saves you a ruined pair.
| Works | Don't machine wash |
|---|---|
| Canvas sneakers | Leather shoes |
| Mesh and knit runners | Suede or nubuck |
| Kids' shoes | Dress shoes |
| Canvas slip-ons | Boots with structured soles |
| Fabric trainers | Anything with glue seams already lifting |
The bag protects the shoe from the machine. It can't change what water does to leather.
How to Wash
- Knock off loose dirt and remove the insoles.
- Loosen the laces and put the pair in the bag. Pull the drawstring closed.
- Cold water, gentle cycle, mild detergent. Add a few towels to balance the load.
- Air dry only. A hot dryer warps soles and melts adhesive — this is the step people skip and regret.

Questions
Will this damage my washing machine?
The padded structure keeps the sole from striking the drum directly, which is what causes the banging when you wash shoes loose. Run a gentle cycle and add a few towels to balance the load — standard practice for washing anything heavy and uneven.
Can I wash more than one pair at once?
Use one bag per pair and run them together — that's what the two-pack is for. Don't overfill a single bag; the shoes need room to move for the lining to do its work.
What about the laces and insoles?
Take the insoles out and wash them separately by hand; they hold odor and dry slowly. Laces can stay on the shoe as long as they're loosened.
How many washes will it last?
The bag is reusable and washes alongside the shoes. Air dry it with them rather than putting it through a hot dryer.
When will it arrive?
Orders are processed in 1–3 business days and delivered in 5–11 business days to the US and Canada. Every order includes a tracking number.
What if I don't like it?
30-day returns. Email us at support@woolcloth.store and we'll take it back. Return shipping is paid by the customer.
